Now that some of Mr. Trump’s (former) closest associates have been indicted by the Mueller special counsel investigation, our country may soon be facing a genuine Constitutional crisis.
In the past few months, Trump’s allies in the Congress and the conservative media have been calling for the resignation or termination of Robert Mueller. In addition, it has been reported that Trump has sought counsel from his advisers on the scope of the president’s pardon power.
If Trump fires Mueller and/or issues a series of pardons aimed at kneecapping the Mueller investigation, as a member of Congress I would support articles of impeachment against Trump for obstruction of justice. I hereby call on Representative Jeff Fortenberry to do the same.
